Short answer
Instagram account recovery in Switzerland uses Instagram’s own routes: request a review on a disabled notice, or use instagram.com/hacked if someone took over the account. Official steps that come first
- If a disabled or suspended notice appears, tap it and request a review. Finish every step, including any selfie check.
- If the email, number or password changed, open instagram.com/hacked on a phone or computer you have used before, on your normal connection.
- Search your inbox and spam for the Instagram email about the change. The undo link inside is time limited.
- When a code goes to your Swiss number, check that your SIM or eSIM is still active before you start. Codes sent to a lost number never arrive.
- Send one complete appeal and wait for the answer to the email on the account.
Swiss details worth knowing
- Your +41 number: a Swiss mobile written 079 123 45 67 is entered as +41 79 123 45 67, without the zero. Swisscom, Sunrise and Salt can block a SIM and issue a replacement after you identify yourself.
- Two reporting routes, not one: the Federal Office for Cybersecurity (BACS, formerly NCSC) takes phishing and cyber incident reports at report.ncsc.admin.ch but cannot take criminal complaints or restore accounts. For a criminal complaint, go to your local police or Suisse ePolice (suisse-epolice.ch), which accepts certain cyber offences online in several cantons. Police emergency numbers are 117 and 112.
- Phishing: you can forward phishing emails to reports@antiphishing.ch. Common bait is a fake parcel notice or a message pretending to be a bank, and Instagram “copyright” warnings are a regular one.
- Language: notices appear in German, French or Italian depending on your phone. The options are the same. Screenshot the notice as it appears; we work over WhatsApp or email in English.
- Businesses: keep your company name, website and UID number to hand if Instagram asks you to show the profile is a real business.
What not to do
- Don’t pay or message anyone from a DM who says they can “open” your account.
- Don’t share your password or login codes with anyone, including us.
- Don’t create new accounts to plead with Instagram, and don’t send the same appeal over and over.
