Short answer

Official steps that come first
- If a disabled or suspended notice appears, tap it and request a review. Finish each step, including any selfie check.
- If the email, number or password was changed, open instagram.com/hacked on a phone you have used with Instagram before.
- Search your inbox and spam for an Instagram email about the change. Its undo link only works for a limited time.
- Make sure the SIM that holds the number on the account still works. Codes go to that number.
- Send one complete appeal, then wait for the reply to the account’s email.
Checks that matter in Israel
- Your +972 number: an Israeli mobile written 050-123-4567 is entered as +972 50 123 4567, without the leading zero. If the SIM is lost, Partner, Cellcom, Pelephone and other providers replace it once you identify yourself.
- The 119 cyber hotline: the Israel National Cyber Directorate runs a 24/7 hotline on 119 (and 119@cyber.gov.il) that gives free, confidential first guidance on a hacked social media account. It helps you contain the damage. It does not restore the account; that happens through Instagram.
- Blackmail or fraud: do not pay. Save screenshots and links, and report to Israel Police (100 for urgent matters). For online sexual exploitation of minors, 105 is the dedicated line.
- Hebrew and Arabic notices: the notice reads right to left and the options are the same. Screenshot it as shown. We work over WhatsApp or email in English.
- Money-request scams: a hacked friend asking you to send money through a payment app such as Bit or PayBox is common. Call them on a number you already have before you send anything.
What not to do
- Don’t pay or message anyone from a DM who says they can “open” your account.
- Don’t share your password or login codes with anyone, including us.
- Don’t create new accounts to plead with Instagram, and don’t send the same appeal over and over.
