Short answer
Find out what is restricted first. Meta can restrict the ad account, your personal profile’s ability to advertise, or the Business Portfolio. Each has its own Request review button in Account Quality. Appeal the right one, once, with a clear explanation.
Which one is restricted?
- Ad account: only that account can’t run ads. Others in the portfolio still work.
- Your profile: you can’t advertise from any account, even ones you just joined as admin.
- Business Portfolio: every ad account inside it is stopped.
Account Quality lists each restricted asset separately. Screenshot it before you change anything.
What to try first
- Read the reason Meta gives. “Unusual activity” and “advertising policies” are handled differently.
- Verify your identity if Meta asks. Use an ID that matches the name on your profile.
- Remove admins you don’t recognise and turn on two-factor for everyone left.
- Request the review from the asset that’s actually restricted.
What not to do
- Don’t create new ad accounts or portfolios to get around it.
- Don’t ask friends to run ads for the same page from their profiles.
- Don’t send five reviews in a row. Wait for the answer.
When to get help
