Short answer
Check Account Status in the Instagram app and Account Quality in Meta Business Suite. One of them will show the restriction and a review option. Appeal there, not by making a new ad account.
Where the problem usually is
- Instagram account: Settings → Account Status shows if you can’t advertise or are missing features.
- Linked ad account: boosts bill to an ad account. If it’s restricted, boosting fails.
- Your Facebook profile: if it’s restricted from advertising, linked Instagram ads stop too.
Try this first
- Open Account Status and request a review if you see one.
- In Meta Business Suite, check Account Quality for the linked ad account.
- Make sure the payment method on the ad account works.
- Check the boosted post itself. Branded content, health claims or music rights can get a single boost rejected.
For creators and shops
A switch from creator to business account, or linking a new Facebook page, can trigger checks. Give it a day before changing more settings. Lots of changes in a row look risky.
When to get help
