Short answer
Read the ban screen. If there’s a timer, that’s how long you wait. If it says your number is banned, there’s no timer and the next step is asking for a review.
Temporary vs permanent
- Temporary. Shows a time left, often after spam-like behavior or too many reports in a short time.
- Permanent. “Your phone number is banned from using WhatsApp.” Needs a review request.
What to do
- Uninstall any modified WhatsApp (GB WhatsApp, WhatsApp Plus and similar).
- Install the official app.
- Tap “Request a review” and keep your message short and honest.
- Don’t re-register the number again and again.

While you wait
Don’t message lots of new contacts from another number to “warn” people. That can get that number flagged as well. If it’s a business number, check that everyone you message opted in.
