Short answer
Automated checks make first decisions on many reports, and a person only looks at some. The faster ones are the obvious violations: scams, nudity, clear impersonation. The slower ones need judgment.
Where to check
In the app, go to Settings, then Help, then Support Requests. Reports you’ve filed show their status there. Also check the email on your account.
What tends to be quicker
- Obvious scams and fake giveaways.
- Direct impersonation with proof.
- Accounts with many separate, specific reports on real violations.
What tends to take longer
- Harassment without clear, quotable evidence.
- Parody-style or borderline accounts.
- Intellectual property reports that need paperwork.
If it says no violation
Don’t just report again from ten devices. Check whether another category fits, add evidence, and use the dedicated form if there is one. More: Instagram not removing a reported account.
