Report it in the app
Snapchat says the in-app report is the fastest route. Open Chat, press and hold the account's name, tap Manage Friendship, then Report. If you're not friends, find the account in Search, press and hold the name and tap Report. Pick the option that fits, like pretending to be me.
Use the impersonation form
On the Snapchat Support request page, choose to report a safety concern, then My Snapchat account, then Another Snapchat account is pretending to be me. Add your username, the fake username and what it's been doing.
Heads up: Snapchat generally only acts on impersonation reports from the person being impersonated, or a parent or guardian for a minor.
What to include
- The fake account's exact username.
- Screenshots of its profile, Story and any messages it sent.
- When you found it and who it's been contacting.
After you report
Reports are confidential, so the account won't know it was you. You can check progress in My Reports in the app. If the account keeps coming back under new names, keep a list with screenshots of each one.
Want us to handle it?
If reports go nowhere, our Snapchat account ban service handles fake and impersonation takedowns for you. Guaranteed. If we take it on, we get it done.
