Start at facebook.com/hacked
On a phone or computer you've used for Facebook before, go to facebook.com/hacked and follow the steps. A familiar device and network make it easier for Facebook to recognise you.
If the email or phone was changed
Check your inbox for an email from Facebook about the change. It usually has a link to undo it and secure the account. If you can't find one, use Find your account at facebook.com/login/identify with any email, phone number or username you've ever had on the profile.
Confirm it's you
Facebook may ask for a video selfie, which it compares with the photos on your profile, or a photo of your ID. Use good light, follow the prompts exactly and only send it inside Facebook's own flow.
Lock it down once you're back
- Change your password and the password on the linked email.
- Turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app.
- Log out of devices you don't recognise in Where you're logged in.
- Remove unknown admins from your Pages and ad accounts.
- Tell friends to ignore messages sent while you were locked out.
If it got disabled while hacked
Hackers often post spam or scams that get the profile disabled. Then you need to appeal the disable as well. See our Facebook account disabled guide for that part.
Avoid recovery scams
People who DM you offering to "hack it back" are usually after money or more of your accounts. Never give anyone your password or login codes.
Want us to handle it?
If the official steps loop or stall, our Facebook account recovery service gets it done. Guaranteed. If we take it on, we get it done.
